Villa Louise

The house

Villa Louise stands on the hillside above Choeng Mon bay, on the north-east corner of Koh Samui, on a plot of 800 m² inside the Sammit Estate. The whole villa is yours — there is no shared building, no other party on the land, and no stairs: everything is on one level.

Three bedrooms sleep eight. Two have large double beds; the third has two singles. Each of the three bathrooms has a shower, and towels, bed linen and toiletries are provided.

The living room opens to a fully equipped kitchen — fridge, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine and a dining table — so a group that wants to cook can, which on an island where eating out is easy is more useful than it sounds on the fourteenth night. There is air conditioning throughout, ceiling fans, a flat-screen television, a safe, a desk, a dressing room, and tiled and marble floors that stay cool underfoot.

Outside

The pool is private, and the living room, the terrace and the balcony all look over it and over the tropical garden beyond. There is a patio, outdoor furniture, a barbecue, and a bar.

Parking is free and on the property. Guests also have use of a private beach area.

Around you

Choeng Mon is the quiet side of Samui — a curved bay with calm, shallow water, a handful of restaurants along the sand, and none of the noise of Chaweng, which is close enough to visit and far enough not to hear. The beach is a short walk down from the villa.

Samui International Airport is three kilometres away, which makes the transfer at the end of a long flight almost nothing. The Big Buddha is 2.3 km, and Fisherman's Village at Bophut, with its Friday street market, is about six. With a car or a Grab you reach most of the island in twenty to thirty minutes.

Who it suits

Eight people, or two families, who want the whole house and their own pool rather than a resort. Guests have rated the location ten out of ten, and the single-storey layout suits anyone travelling with small children or with someone who would rather avoid stairs.

All children are welcome. The villa is non-smoking, and pets are not accepted.
